The Skills & Employment Alliance collaborate to recognise employers committed to excellence, innovation, social responsibility and long-term investment in talent.

Members of the Alliance include The Careers & Enterprise Company, The Engineering Development Trust and The 5% Club.

Every couple of months, employers that have participated in the schemes offered by the Skills & Employment Alliance will be recognised as Exemplar Employers.

The Engineering Development Trust: Industrial Cadets

EDT is a UK wide educational charity, delivering and accrediting 50,000+ experiences through the Industrial Cadets Awards each year. EDT provides inspiring opportunities for young people to explore the exciting world of STEM, and the variety of rewarding future careers available.

EDT developed Industrial Cadets with support from industry to provide a benchmark accreditation, mapping activities against a skills and competency framework.  Inspired by its Patron, His Majesty King Charles III, Industrial Cadets is the “Kitemark” award for young people engaging with the world of work, providing much needed insights and real-life experiences.

This prestigious scheme program recognises leading UK employers of apprentices, graduates, and placement students. Participating employers receive a detailed benchmarking report providing valuable insight to shape earn and learn scheme optimisation.

Accredited membership is awarded at Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum levels based on submitted questionnaire information.
